Belihuloya is one of the most enchanting destinations in the island that is quite popular among trekkers and hikers. Depending on your particular interests, you can explore mountainous regions, thick jungles or simply enjoy the calm and idyllic atmosphere of local villages.

Adam’s Peak, or Sri Pada as it is locally known, is a popular destination among adventurous explorers as well as Buddhist devotees. You can join the throngs of devotees in their ascent to the peak in the dark and cold hours of the night to witness the spectacular splendour of sunrise. The glorious morning sun softly engoldens the rising peaks of the mountains creating truly a magnificent sight that well compensates the arduous climb!

The picturesque town of Ella is one of the most beautiful destinations in Sri Lanka. Here too you will find many hiking trails. Ella Rock and Little Adam’s Peak are the most popular ones among these. Breathtaking tea estates and luxuriant forests surround these trails and the refreshing climate of the region makes the experience even more magical.

Horton Plains National Park is yet another famous spot among hikers and trekkers. There are several spectacular sites to witness within its territories. The sheer precipice of the ‘World’s End’ as well as the gorgeous splendour of ‘Bakers Falls’, truly deserve to be seen and admired.

The Knuckles Mountain Range also offers some breathtaking trails to explore. You can opt to take a day climb or choose to spend one or two nights of camping and enjoy a more intensive hiking experience.

The rock of Pidurangala which affords spectacular views of Sigiriya Rock Fortress is also explored by many. The world famous Sinharaja Forest Reserve which has an astounding array of endemic flora and fauna should also not be missed when travelling in Sri Lanka.
