Your adventure begins with a visit to Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, located approximately 55 miles from Colombo along the scenic Colombo – Kandy road. Established in 1975, this sanctuary provides a home for abandoned and injured elephants. Witness these gentle giants during feeding time from 09:30-10:00 hrs and 13:30-14:00 hrs, and enjoy their playful antics during bathing time from 10:00-10:30 hrs and 14:00-14:30 hrs, as they frolic in the nearby river.
